The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and adult social care services in England.
To make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and to encourage services to improve.
To monitor, inspect and regulate services to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and publish what is found, including performance ratings to help people to choose care.
Inspections take place regularly and at any time in response to concerns. They are almost always unannounced. During inspections they will ask people about their experiences of care, talk to staff, and check that the right systems and processes are in place. In between inspections they will continually monitor all the information held about the service.
If the inspectors find that the service isn’t meeting the government standards, they will take action to make sure it improves. They have a range of powers they can use.
Involving people who use services
The public, carers, local groups and care staff provide the CQC with important information about their experiences of care services.
If you would like to tell the CQC about your experiences of the care services provided at Hucknall Road Medical Centre, you can do so by clicking here
