Confidentiality

Access to Records
In accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Access to Health Records Act 1990, patients may request to see their medical records.  Such requests are by appointment only and may be subject to an administration charge.  No information will ever be released without your consent unless we are legally obliged to do so.
 
Confidentiality
All staff in the practice are bound to maintain patient confidentiality.  Any proven breach of confidentiality will be treated extremely seriously.
 
Confidentiality extends to family members, therefore medical information relating to you will not be divulged to a family member without your written consent (e.g. we cannot give information regarding appointment times or test results to your spouse or other family members without your prior written consent). 

Data Protection
The practice is registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) on the Data Protection Register as a data controller.
