Pandemic Influenza (H1N1) (Swine Flu) Vaccination Programme
Why is getting vaccinated a good idea?
· help protect you against swine flu
· Help protect your family and other people who are close to you - as it is
less likely that they will catch the virus from you
· help protect you against future waves of infection caused by the swine
flu virus
Who will get the vaccination first?
Phase 1: The vaccination is being offered to people who are most likely to become seriously ill if they catch swine flu and are within a priority group.
Phase 2: All children that have reached 6 months of age, but not born before 01.01.2005, so new babies (born after 08.06.09) will also qualify for a vaccination, once they reach 6 months of age.
We are also offering home visits to those patients who are housebound.
What happens next?
You will either receive a telephone call from a member of the Practice Team or a letter, offering you a swine flu vaccination. Patients may also receive their vaccination during a routine appointment. If you feel you are in a priority group or have a child (within the age range specified above) and have not yet received a letter or telephone call please telephone us or speak to a receptionist and we will check your records and book you an appointment where appropriate.
Please ask the Reception Team if you require more information about the swine flu vaccination programme.
